Music Session #3 at Palácio Ramalhete, featuring the talented santur musician Ebrahim Mohammadi.
Ebrahim Mohammadi is a santur master, composer, and author from Afghanistan. With a mission to preserve and share the ancestral art of the santur — one of the most poetic instruments in Afghan classical music — Ebrahim was one of the few officially recognized teachers of the instrument in his country. He has been living in Lisbon since 2021, where he continues to share this rare heritage through his performances, and a unique instructional book to make santur learning accessible to other Afghan generations.
To him, music is not just for dancing or celebration — it is a form of healing that should echo beyond the present moment.
